Born of the idea that boats are one of life's great pleasures and that they should be enjoyed as such, 605 strives to provide people with a premium solution to any problem, and above all else, to provide them with time. Time to enjoy and relish the moments that boats and the world's great waterways can provide like nothing else can.

Our Founders

Through a shared love of boating, a passion for the outdoors and an admiration of hard work, Sam and Gus founded 605 Marine Co in early 2023. With a combined 10,000+ hours of commercial marine experience alone, and countless others spent enjoying, tinkering and living for the marine environment, Sam and Gus bring immense experience, and enthusiasm to an industry which otherwise can be tough to deal with.

With this in mind, they strive to change the way people interact with both their boats and our great waterways for the better through 605 Marine Co and our dedicated team.

Early Beginnings...

  • Gus Webster

    With a lifelong affinity for the sea, Gus embodies the very essence of maritime passion. Born into the Spithill family, one steeped in the boating and professional sailing industry, Gus has been on and around boats since childhood, fostering a deep-rooted connection to the water.

    Growing up on the picturesque waters of Sydney Harbour, Gus honed his skills from an early age, learning to navigate, drive, and care for vessels with unwavering dedication. This upbringing not only instilled an intimate understanding of boats but also a profound respect for the ocean's beauty and potential.

    Gus pursued his academic aspirations alongside their maritime endeavors, earning a Bachelor of Medical Science from the prestigious University of Sydney in 2023. This unique blend of expertise has fueled Gus' commitment to excellence and holistic understanding in all facets of life.

    Since 2018, Gus has translated his passion into a thriving commercial career, serving as a coxswain, skipper and tender driver. With over 5000 hours spent driving, skippering, and meticulously maintaining vessels, Gus has honed his skills to a level of mastery that only genuine dedication can achieve.

    As a testament to his relentless pursuit of perfection, Gus stands as an invaluable asset to the maritime community, infusing every journey with a wealth of experience, a familial legacy, and an unyielding love for the sea.
